Ealing projects to receive more than £165,000 in new funding from BBC Children in Need

Two projects working in Ealing including BFC CST have been awarded grants totalling more than £165,000 in BBC Children in Need's first funding round of 2017. Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has been awarded a new funding grant for a three year sports project– Be Inspired. The project results from the partnership between BBC and the local housing provider A2Dominion. The project aims to improve young people’s wellbeing and aspirations whilst reducing any negative behaviour through multi-sports sessions in Ealing, Southall and Stanwell.

Be Inspired delivers three football/multi-sports sessions for youngsters age 8-18 years old, term-time only. All sessions engage with children of all abilities and gender, from each local area (Ealing, Southall and Stanwell – please see the link below for each respective timetable).

The project benefits from its particularity of delivering a girls only football session and provides coaching volunteering opportunities and mentoring support for all participants, across all sessions.

The grants will be shared amongst projects providing services to disadvantaged children and young people in the area.

The news means that BBC Children in Need now has more than £387,000 invested locally.

Katie Higginson, BBC Children in Need Regional Head of London and the South East said: “We are so pleased to be awarding more grants to projects that will make a difference to disadvantaged children and young people in Ealing.
