As well as the NPOWER League 1 Play-Off Final, a sun-kissed Wembley Stadium also hosted the League 1 Kids Cup Final on Saturday, in which Brentford faced Oldham Athletic.
Collis Primary School, who represented Brentford, reached the Final to play against South Failsworth Primary School, who were representing Oldham Athletic.
Having progressed through local and regional finals, the two schools won the opportunity to play at the National Stadium ahead of the promotion showdown between Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United.
As the turnstiles opened, parents, teachers, families and friends came in to show support for the two teams. After walking out onto the pristine Wembley pitch, the teams lined ups and shook hands before the game got underway.
The first-half was full of drama as Brentford captain, Matt O'Reilly, won the ball and narrowly missed the Oldham Athletic net after a fantastic strike. Shortly after, Oldham 'keeper Ethan Goddard pulled off a fantastic save to keep the scores level.
Minutes before the half-time whistle, Brentford took the lead as Hal Bustfield hit a screamer that hit the back of Latic's net.
Both sides showcased a superb standard of football throughout the second half and looked right at home on the Wembley pitch.
Despite numerous close shots and skilful passages of play from each side in the second period, the score remained 1-0 to Brentford - giving the children from Collis Primary School the chance to lift the cup after the full-time whistle.
After a trophy presentation in the Royal Box, both sides were the pre-match flag bearers for npower and got to walk out with Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United as they took to the field for the npower League 1 Play-Off Final.
The npower Kids Cup is a competition for U11 schoolchildren with the opportunity to represent your local Football League club at Wembley Stadium before a showpiece final.
