Join us for the Royal Parks Half Marathon

We’re calling all Bees fans to join us in taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 14 October.

If you’re keen runner, it’s time to lace up your running shoes and fundraise for our important community projects.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon, which takes place in some of the capital's world-famous landmarks and four Royal Parks, has seen 128,000 runners cross the finish line since 2008.The 13-mile route starts in Hyde Park, then passes through Green Park, St James’ Park and Kensington Gardens. You’ll also run past world-famous London landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade and the Royal Albert Hall.

Tony Griffiths, a local Bees fan, took part in the half marathon last year.  Commenting on the experience, he said:

"After running the New York Marathon, I decided last year to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon for the Trust.

"Having kids myself, I have seen first-hand the fantastic community work Brentford's Trust does – helping hundreds of children get active and live healthier lifestyles."

Tony, along with three other runners, managed to raise nearly £2,000 for the Trust, which was invested into the charity's community, health, education and disability projects.

"I would recommend taking part in a charity race for the Trust,” Tony said.

"Just make sure you do enough training and, most importantly, have fun!"

The Trust has limited spaces available and each runner is asked to raise a minimum of £300 for the Trust’s vital community projects.

Please contact Andrew Bell on 020 8326 7038 or at @abell@brentfordfccst.com to register your place. Registration closes on Friday 24 August.
