WESTSIDE RADIO AND BRENTFORD FCCST LAUNCH NEW SATURDAY AFTERNOON SPORTS SHOW ON WEST LONDONS NEWEST RADIO STATION.....!!!

WHO ARE WE...

WestSide Community Radio has been operating for a number of years under the restricted service license (RSL) scheme. The station's focus is on bringing diverse communities together and in particular giving young people a platform to express themselves and take control of their own lives. We are a widely recognised operator across West London having been instrumental in creating a host of current talent on radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, BBC Asian network and Kiss FM. Westside Community Radio is supported by local statutory and voluntary organisations in West London.

OUR LISTENERS...

WestSide Community Radio is aimed at a diverse spectrum of listeners aged between 15 and 30. This represents over 300,000 potential listeners in the West London boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith, Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow. Sometimes known as the "myspace/facebook" generation, this is a highly influential age group, who set the pace when it comes to fashion trends and music.

WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE...

WestSide Community Radio provides the best in music shows, discussion programs, hourly news, and local community information. Most programming will be in English but certain shows will be targeted at key groups, in their own language. Peak time shows are presented by a combination of established radio stars as well as local people. The public are encouraged to participate and interact in all shows, discussions and debates via phone, text messages and email.

COMMUNITY SHOWS...

There will be a two-hour community show every day discussing social and local issues within our community. These shows will be aimed at providing professional advice, education, and training information for a number of issues concerning local people. Community groups and organisations will be invited on a daily basis to share their knowledge and educate listeners on various topics.

BFCCST & WESTSIDE, SATURDAYS FROM 2PM...

Saturday 26th January saw the first broadcast of the Saturday Sports Show hosted by WestSide in partnership with Brentford FCCST. The show takes the format of other sports shows with commentary coming from games up and down the country (and all leagues) with emphasis on the West London area and in particular Brentford FC! BFCCST staff will be live in the studio discussing the games, giving you the latest scores and providing in-depth analysis of all the weeks sporting news events! Luke Skelhorn (BFCCST General Manager) and Luis Melville (ATP & Futsal Coordinator) made their broadcasting debuts with other members of the BFCCST team taking the helm in the weeks to come!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET INVOLVED!

Do you like the sound of all of the above? Then why not get involved? How about being on our team of reporters live from Griffin Park or any other game you may be attending? All you need is a mobile phone and we will do the rest...! Alternatively, if you are a young person aged 13-19 who may be considering a career in the media, WestSide, in partnership with BFCCST will be running fully accredited Radio Courses giving you the opportunity to produce and broadcast your own shows! WHAT NEXT!

We hope that all of our supporters will take the time to try WestSide and in particular the Saturday Sports Show as this is a great opportunity to give a voice to those clubs (and fans) who may not get as much media coverage on a Saturday as our distant cousins in the Premiership! What we really want though is your involvement be it live or as a contributor to one of the shows...WestSides goal is to become the voice of West London and we want to see all of our community getting involved.
