Brentford fan has a matchday experience she will never forget
While many Bees fans were reeling from Josh Dasilva’s stunning goal against Bristol City on Wednesday, for Hannah Wallace it was a matchday experience she would never forget. The 20-year-old avid Brentford fan, who has learning difficulties and ADHD, walked on to the pitch with some of her biggest footballing heroes.
The mascot package, which was donated by Phil Robinson Builders, gives Brentford fans the unique opportunity to walk on to the pitch with the Brentford players before a game.
Speaking about the experience, Hannah’s mum said:
“Hannah has been looking forward to being a Brentford mascot since we told her about it; needless to say the evening did not disappoint. Hannah thoroughly enjoyed herself and all the attention she was given by the staff and players.
“Thank you so much to all the team at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust for making this happen.”
Hannah has been involved with Brentford FC and its award-winning Community Sports Trust for a number of years. As a child she took part in the Trust’s Short Breaks project, which offers free sporting activities for children with disabilities. Commissioned by Hounslow Council, the project aims to support children to overcome any barriers they might face playing sport.
Speaking after the match, Matchday Coordinator Amy Crook, said:
“To be able to offer Hannah the chance to be Brentford’s home mascot for her favourite team means the world to her.
“It was a memorable day for Hannah and her family; along with meeting the players she will receive photos and a video, which I am sure she will treasure for a long time.”
Brentford FC has already been recognised for its commitment to Bees fans with disabilities:
