Brentford FC Community Sports Trust hosts the regional phase of NHS United for London Tournament

Together with London United, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust held the first stage of the NHS United for London football tournament, for NHS key workers, to thank them for their incredible work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. 

On Saturday 12th June, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust hosted a 5-a-side football tournament at Gunnersbury Park for the hospital staff, as a thank you gesture for their hard work throughout the recent unprecedented times. Together with London United and other London based Football Clubs and Foundations, the event engaged with NHS staff from different hospitals such as West Middlesex, Chelsea and Imperial College Healthcare.  

The teams were competing for the opportunity to play against other regional winners across London in the grand final planned for June 26th again at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub.

“A big shout out to Brentford FC Community Sports Trust for putting this morning on. I think everyone from West Mid and a few from Chelsea hospitals had a fabulous morning. The weather was perfect, and we all played in a really good spirit!” 

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust have delivered a wide range of activities and community programmes since the start of the pandemic. From online sessions for young people and adults to providing hundreds of activity packs and hot meals across the five boroughs in west London, BFCCST continues to provide a community and sports programme for all.  

Trust staff now operate from the new offices based at the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub facility. Over 1000 participants aged 18 months to 50+ years old currently engage in the wide range of activities delivered by the Trust’s team of qualified coaches. From mini gymnastics to adult football leagues, the Trust’s offers a session for everyone.
