Make your fundraiser go further

Whether you're running a marathon, hosting a quiz night or doing something all your own, how you share your page makes the biggest difference to what you raise. Here's how to get the most from it, in three stages.

  1. 1Get your page ready
  2. 2Spread the word
  3. 3Keep it going

Stage 1Get your page ready

Add a photo

A photo of you makes your page feel personal. Try one in your Bees shirt or training kit, and add new ones as you go.

Tell your story

Say why you're taking part and why the Trust matters to you. A few honest lines are enough.

Set a target

A target keeps you motivated and shows supporters what you're aiming for. You can always raise it later.

Be your first donor

Kick things off yourself. People are more likely to give to a page that's already moving.

Show what support does

Tell people what their money helps: sport, health, education and employment programmes for local people across west London.

Link your fitness app

Running, riding or walking? Connect Strava or Fitbit to your Enthuse page so supporters can follow your training.

Impact you can support

Social impact figures: 2020–23 Social Impact Study (Substance). Prevented cases are modelled estimates.

Stage 2Spread the word

Email in small groups

Send your link to friends, family and colleagues in small batches. Personal messages get more replies than one big email.

Post your link with a photo, and tag @brentfordfccst so we can share it too.

Add it to your signature

Put your page link in your email signature. Every email you send becomes a gentle reminder.

Ask about match funding

Many employers match what staff raise for charity. Ask your HR team; it could double your total.

Team up

Take on the challenge with friends, family or colleagues. You'll keep each other going and reach more people.

Contact your local paper

Local press love a community story. A short note with a photo can bring in new supporters.

Stage 3Keep it going

Post updates

Share training milestones, photos and how close you are to your target. Updates bring people back to your page.

Send a friendly reminder

A follow-up message a week before your event, and again on the day, often brings in a second wave of donations.

Thank every donor

Thank people personally and publicly. It means a lot, and it encourages others to give.

Your fundraising checklist

Tick things off as you go. Your progress is saved on this device.
