Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has been shortlisted for ‘Best Football Community Scheme – Premier League’ at the prestigious Football Business Awards.
The nomination is in recognition of the Club and Trust’s latest Social Impact Study which was launched in December 2023.
£70.6m Social Value for 2022/23
Ten years ago the Gtech Community Stadium was approved by the London Borough of Hounslow. Fundamental to the consent was for Brentford FC Community Sports Trust to increase activity by 30% within three years of being in the new stadium or by 50% if gates averaged 10,000 or more during the period.
With Brentford playing in the Premier League and gates regularly hitting over 17,000 people, the Trust surpassed the original targets outlined by the London Borough of Hounslow by 454%, with a social impact value of £70.6m for the year 2022/23.
Creating a brighter future
The Trust has worked with several partners throughout the journey and many new ones are joining; together we are beginning to realise the profound effect that positive engagement in sport and activity can have on the wellbeing of individuals and the creation of strong communities.
As a Trust, we are incredibly proud of the results in our December 2023 Social Impact Report which, in many ways were triggered by the ambition of the stadium project and the belief and commitment of all individuals involved. An exciting story is unfolding both on and off the field and working together our ambition is to create a brighter future.
