With our community work spanning more than three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for local communities. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all backgrounds.

The Trust is pleased to announce that we have recruited three new Trustees to complement the range of skills and experience currently on our dynamic Board.

The new Trustees are:

  • Modi Abdoul

  • Sharon Wright

  • Iain Preston

Modi Abdoul

Modi is Head of Resident Participation, TMO & Communities at the London Borough of Hackney. Prior to this Modi has 15 years of experience working with children, young people and communities, including as Head of Community Services at the London Borough of Islington. Modi is an experienced Youth Work Manager and qualified Youth Worker, as well as an independent EDI Consultant.

With strong links to communities in Ealing and Hounslow, Modi has been a member of the Independent Fostering Panel for the London Borough of Ealing since 2008.

Modi is also an anthropologist with an interest and experience in global communities, charities and economics.

Sharon Wright

Sharon is a self-employed consultant supporting senior teams across the public sector on strategy, leadership and governance. She also works to engage schools, colleges and communities on regeneration and education capital projects in the UK and internationally.

Sharon's early career included policy work in the Dept for Education and Employment and leading a not-for-profit company. She has previously been a school governor for over 20 years and has authored several publications on school design.

Sharon lives in Brentford and is Deputy Chair of Bees United, the Brentford Supporter's Trust.

Iain Preston

Now running his own business based on a career in the digital advertising world, Iain's career has seen him work with major brands in leadership roles with global agency networks, including Wunderman Thompson, R/GA and DigitasLBi.

Iain is a member of the Advertising Association's Board for driving EDI in the industry in the UK. He champions neurodiversity and is a volunteer student mentor at the Lillian Bayliss Technology Academy, where he engages with SEND students and student support teams. He is also a mentor with Lollipop, a female-founded network supporting women from diverse and marginalised backgrounds to grow their careers in the advertising and creative industries.

Iain lived in Northfields for over 20 years and recently moved with his family to Amersham. He is a Brentford FC season ticket holder along with his wife and sons.
