There was laughter, celebration, singing and dancing as the Brentford Penguins celebrated their seventh birthday at the Community Stadium Hub last Sunday.
Established in October 2017 by former Brentford player Allan Cockram, the Brentford Penguins are a football team for children with Down’s syndrome.
The team hold weekly outdoor training sessions open to children with Down's Syndrome aged five and over who want to learn and practice their football skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting while also improving their balance, coordination and agility.

As participants and their families all joined the celebrations at the Community Stadium Hub there were even some surprise messages and well wishes during the afternoon.
About The Brentford Penguins
Since the launch of the Brentford Penguins FC in 2017, the organisation has gone from strength to strength. In May 2023 official Charity Status was granted under the umbrella name of Planet Penguin Football Foundation. Supported by Brentford Football Club and Brentford Community Sports Trust, Planet Penguin Football Foundation is also affiliated with the Middlesex FA and the Walking Football Association.
