Brentford FC players Christian Nørgaard, Mikel Damsgaard, Ryan Trevitt and Mads Roerslev recently visited the Trust’s Community Stadium Hub to join a Premier League Primary Stars workshop with local Year 5 students.
The workshop, which was themed on Rainbow Laces, aimed to encourage allyship and inclusion, as well as enhancing conversation among the pupils on what it is like to stand in someone else’s shoes.
Surprise Visitors
The students in attendance at the Community Stadium Hub from Little Ealing, Mount Carmel, Kew Green Preparatory and Stanley Primary couldn’t quite believe it when the Brentford stars joined halfway through the workshop and shared their words of encouragement.
As the pupils settled with their new classmates they were tasked with completing an allyship “stop, start, continue” pledge. All the pledges were stuck to the wall to form their own rainbow coloured pledge well which the players added to.
Children Q&A
Following the workshop, the children had the opportunity to quiz the Brentford players on a range of topics from what they would be if they weren’t footballers, to toughest opponents and best nickname in the Brentford squad which happened to be “the giraffe” for Kristoffer Ajer because of his long neck.
Before leaving the players handed out Rainbow Laces to all the students before signing autographs and taking group photos.
