Throughout 2024, Brentford FC players have shown their support for the Trust and the community in a variety of ways.

From taking part in sessions and camps to interviewing participants, members of the Men's, Women's and Academy squads have taken time to both witness, and contribute to, the Trust's impactful community work.

PFA Community Champions

Back in June, Neal Maupay and Mollie Holmes were named Brentford’s Professional Footballers’ Association Community Champions.

The Brentford Women captain attended numerous sessions and represented the Club and Trust at public engagements, including attending Parliament for an event hosted by Ruth Cadbury MP for Brentford and Isleworth.

Meanwhile, Maupay was nominated for the accolade after forging a unique bond with the Brentford Penguins, and going above and beyond to support the work of the Club and Trust in the community.

Having met the Penguins on numerous occasions last season, Maupay didn’t think twice about the ’21 sign’ goal celebration after opening the scoring against Wolves in the FA Cup in January.

Neal added, “It was normal, I didn’t even think twice. Afterwards to see the smile on their faces was absolutely amazing."

Ben Mee Learns More About Eating Disorders

To mark World Mental Health Day 2024 in October, the Trust launched a new mental health project in collaboration with West London NHS Community Eating Disorders Service, aimed at tackling the stigma associated with mental health, and disordered eating and eating disorders in particular.

Mee sat down at the Gtech Community Stadium with Dillon, to discuss his experiences with eating disorder.

Taking Part at the Community Stadium Hub

A number of players have visited sessions run at the Trust's Community Stadium Hub in 2024.

From playing table tennis with Short Breaks participants, to building bridges with STEM groups, the likes of Kevin Schade, Yehor Yarmoliuk and Christian Nørgaard have inspired young people in the local area.

A recent highlight was the surprise visit of Nørgaard, Damsgaard, Mads Roerslev and Ryan Trevitt to an allyship and inclusion-themed Premier League Primary Stars workshop with Year 5 students.
