Children's Mental Health Week is an annual mental health awareness week launched by children's mental health charity, Place2Be.
The week takes place every February and exists to empower, equip and give a voice to all children and young people in the UK. It was started in 2015 to give a voice to all children and young people and to raise awareness of children and young people's mental health.
This Is My Place
The official theme for Children's Mental Health Week 2026 is “This is My Place”
We know that our sense of belonging as individuals, in our friendships, in school, and in communities plays a vital role in our mental health and wellbeing.
To know our place and really feel part of our environment is a basic human need. It can have powerful and long-lasting impacts in lots of areas of our lives, including our physical and mental health, education, employment and relationships. When we feel that we belong, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a real difference.
Trust Young Carers
To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s young carers took part in one of the activities on the Place2Be - creating a piece of art on where they feel they belong.
Mikey: "My map is about how much I love cricket and how I feel like I belong when I'm playing."
Arfaa: "Belonging to me means feeling welcomed and having a place in society. I belong with home, friends, family, education and work. I am part of groups of people who make me feel included and allow me to be myself"
Zayyan: "I am a Muslim and drew the mosque as that’s where I belong and where I can pray."
