Journey Into The Programme

"My football journey started when I was really young. My dad started coaching me from around 1 or 2, and ever since then, football has been all I’ve wanted to do.

"I played for British School of Sports (BSOS) in the Peterborough League, then moved to Crowlands and later Whitton Wanderers. At the same time, I was training with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. I’ve always tried to do more outside of team sessions, whether that’s going to the park, working on my weaknesses, or just putting extra time in on my own.

"I know I’m not the finished player, but that’s what drives me. I want to keep improving every day and push myself as far as I can. Since joining Brentford, being around that level has made me more focused and more determined. It’s shown me the standards needed, and it’s made me believe I can reach the highest level if I keep working and don’t get comfortable."

Development Through Trust FDC Programme

"I have improved my tactical understanding by reading the game better, including my positioning, awareness, and decision making, knowing when to press, drop, or find space. As a captain, I’ve become more vocal and help organise the team on the pitch.

"Technically, I’ve developed my first touch, passing, and ability to play under pressure with each session continuing to grow and become the best version of myself on and off the pitch."

Coaching Influence

"Yes, one of the biggest pieces of advice I’ve received from a coach at the Trust was to push beyond my limits and really test my full capability as a player. I was told to focus on myself and not worry about what others think.

"I’ve taken that into games, training, and everyday life. It’s helped build my confidence and allowed me to express myself at my maximum capacity more on the pitch, without holding back, and to fully believe in my ability, which I thank the Coach for."

Preparing for the Camp / How Was the Camp?

"When I found out I had been selected to represent Lithuania at Under-16's, I was honestly just shocked and really happy. It meant a lot to me because I knew how much work I’d put in over the years, so it felt like it was finally paying off. It was a proud moment for me and my family.

"I was a bit nervous as well, but it pushed me to work even harder. I trained more, gave everything in preparation, and made sure I was ready. Mentally, I just told myself to stay calm, enjoy it, and show what I can do. I knew it was a big opportunity, so I wanted to make the most of it and prove myself."

Impact Beyond Football

"Being involved with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has really changed me in a positive way. I’ve gained more respect at school, and my confidence has grown a lot, not just in football but as a person too.

"It’s helped me become more disciplined and willing to push myself in both education and sport. That mindset has even helped me in athletics, where I came 1st in my county and 18th in the country for triple jump, which led to me competing at the English Schools National Championships 2025 in Birmingham.

"To anyone who has the opportunity or is considering joining, I’d say go for it 100% and take it seriously; it really can change your confidence and open doors you don’t expect."
