Over £10,000 was raised at the inaugural Brentford Community Cup as Harry’s 8 FC emerged victorious at the Gtech Community Stadium.

With all funds raised giving back to initiatives delivered by the Trust; local businesses, partners and organisations fielded teams to take part in the festival of football.

120 players across the 15 teams took to the pitch in a round-robin tournament with the unique opportunity to play on the same pitch that the Brentford team grace in the Premier League.

Spirit of the Game

Whilst Harry’s 8 FC walked away with the winners trophy, the tournament was played in a friendly spirit with a fair play awarded presented to Hey Jude FC.

Tomas Abreu, Head of Head of Marketing, Funraising and Partnerships at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust said, “The tournament showcased the very best of our community uniting to play football and enjoy competing, but also help to fundraise and give back. The funds raised will help to support initiatives the Trust delivers locally and none of this would have been possible without the players on the day.

“I would like to thank Brentford FC for kindly donating the stadium and pitch to hold the tournament, and also thank all the staff who supported with the operations and running of the tournament.

“Congratulations to all who took part, it was great to see so many different organisations across the Charity Sector coming together to compete, we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”
