Working with Ealing Borough Council and The Football Foundation, a charity helping communities improve their local football facilities, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is asking participants where in Ealing they want sports spaces, how they want to use them and what sports they like to play.

Whether you are a parent or a young person, share your views and fill in a short survey by 12 January 2023. Those who complete the survey on behalf of the Trust could also be in with the chance of winning a signed Brentford shirt.

What are PlayZones?

PlayZones are safe and accessible outdoor facilities that bring people together through football and other sports such as netball, cricket, basketball and rugby. These 30m x 20m activity spaces will be available for use day and night, all year round. The PlayZones programme aims to create over 240 PlayZones in England by 2025.

Councillor Polly Knewstub, Cabinet Member for Thriving Communities at Ealing Borough Council said, “It’s great that we’re expanding the community sports facilities and pitches across the borough. We’re so excited that together with partners, we can bring even more sports and activity spaces to the places you want them.

“It was clear during the pandemic how valued local facilities are in the community and looking forward we want to continue bringing you sports facilities that bring people together. Please get involved by telling us what sports you want to play and where in a quick survey.”

Accessible sports facilities for all

Providing opportunities and access to safe, inclusive and welcoming facilities are at the heart of the programme. The Trust and Ealing Council wants to hear from those who might not have traditionally had a chance to get involved in sport. Ealing Council would be particularly interested in hearing from people from lower incomes, women and girls, people with disabilities or long-term conditions and ethnically diverse communities.
