Joy of Moving
The Joy of Moving project is a national school-based educational project for children aged between 9-10. The initiative, which has been
developed in partnership with the English Football League Trust and Ferrero, is run across four London boroughs.
The programme encourages physical activity, promotes nutritional education and builds awareness of the importance of a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
Over a six-week programme, children spend time in the classroom learning about the body, nutrition and the importance of exercise – this is then followed by a session dedicated to playing football, dodgeball and handball.
Maria Geurgaki, Year 5 Leader at Coston Primary School, said “Children were very enthusiastic about these activities. It helped reinforce knowledge about healthy lifestyles and reflects strongly the teaching values in our class. The delivery was knowledgeable, inspiring and lessons were very well managed.”
